The 2 Mile Sign

After passing treeline the summit will look deceptively close. Keep in mind though that you still have 2,000 vertical feet of elevation to gain. The east face is much larger than it appears initially.

When you reach the 2 mile sign the trail will then do a long switchback crossing from the north side of the face to the south side of the face. Try to enjoy the views around you and not worry too much about the summit yet. You are now over 12,000 feet above sea level. You will be feeling the effects of the altitude. Remember to keep a pace that doesn't force you to take breaks every few minutes.
